Women gathering in community has been happening all over the world for centuries.we invite you to come and experience the love of your tribe.

When women gather magic happens

Every Spring and Autumn we gather together, in a beautiful space in Somerset. Here we co-create the most magical of community spaces, where we all meet as equals. There are no workshop leaders, no space holders, no cleaners, no performers, no market stalls - However there are awesome women, that all come together to share their skills as equals. As we gather to create the beautiful Sacred Sister Village, all of these things become very much a part of the creation, but we don’t start from a place of providing you with a festival style event. In doing so, the space we create is held, safe, knowing, loving, powerful, with a deep sense of inclusion and equality. If you have skills to share, amazing we want you to join us, we want you to share what feels right for you, we want you to drop in and enjoy the full experience from a place where you can “BE” who you are, not just “DO” what you do!!

If you are someone who usually comes to an event to be entertained, what is that you can offer as part of the community, can you share a story, sing a song, check on the loo, peel some veg, create an awesome altar, tend the fire, collect water, host a dance, take part in a circle, all of you is welcome, and we will support you to show up just as you are, and empower you to be a part of the community through whatever you choose to share with us.

Sacred Sister Gathering was set up by Laura, after running festivals and events for over a decade. Her ability to hold deep space for every woman present and to set up the gathering so that there is a place for everyone, with little effort as everyone pulls together, along with her dedicated team of women, including security, electrician, sound tech, plumber, creativity, structures, caterers and everything else that you could possibly think might need to happen on a site over a weekends event, we have it all covered. We have a beautiful crew of loving men, who support us to create the space before we gather, in helping us to put up structures, transport equipment etc, along with looking after our kids and holding space for us women on the outside world so that we can drop in more deeply, without being mum, lover, cook, cleaner, navigator, instigator and all the other things we have to hold in our day to day life.

If this resonates with you, and you feel the deep calling to be amongst like minded, kind, open hearted sisters, then book your space for 2022 soon. We will sell out, and we like to give everyone a fair opportunity to be with us. YES it is scary for most of us to think about being in a field of women, but Laura set up Sacred Sister Gathering to support the healing of the deep sisterhood wound that we all carry, and to enable deep healing to take place, just by showing up.

Whats the word on the gathering

  • Shelley

Life changed when I entered a field full of women I had not met before. It was a scary moment as I wondered if I would be accepted, judged, understood, but I soon realised that the space Laura had created was so safe, held, and it felt like the whole space was held by a beautiful hug in loving arms. Since attending the gathering life has opened up in such beautiful ways. Something truly healed in me that weekend, and it is now a part of my calendar ever year, I would not miss it for the world!

  • Hannah

I have been a part of many festivals, events and gatherings over the years, but there is something so deeply touching and beautiful about Sacred Sister. The co-creation brings about such magic and abundance in the offerings that just magically appear on the workshop board, the timetable, taking place in the many spaces that are created for us to use. My favourite it always the tipi, it holds us deeply as we share our stories and heal the deep wounds that exist in us all.

  • Annie

Coming out of my busy office work environment on a Friday evening, hoping on a train from London, getting to Somerset, finding my beautifully appointed Bell Tent, being fed the most nourishing food, sleeping on the most amazing land, being held by the presence of gorgeous sisters, taking an out breath, falling into the deep healing of inner dance, listening to Kirtan by the fire, singing, drumming, creating, hugging, suddenly the crazy world I have found myself in, all became a whole lot better. My cup filled, heading back to London, where I know something has changed in me, foever. Thank you Laura and your awesome team.

Sacred Spaces created just for you

  • The Heart

Our beautiful Tipi, holds our central altar, it is a space for deep connection, holding circle, sharing all that needs to come forth to heal, and to be held in the loving embrace that only a tipi can bring.

  • THE SOUL

Our beautiful Indian Pole tent, that provides a big undercover space for us to hold all our performances, stage, sound system, dance floor, larger body classes, and a place to gather whatever the weather.

  • The Mind

A place for quietening the mind. To drop into peace, sound baths, witnessing, grief, love and to discuss matters close to us all.

  • The Body

The creation of a stunning healing garden around which spaces for therapy and healing, body work, our lovely herbalist team, and our welfairies dwell.

  • NOURISH

We create amazing food for the gathering, healthy, wholesome, free from nasties, vegan with the exception of eggs from our own free roaming organic chickens, homegrown, homemade, and full of love, along with amazing cakes, real coffee, kombucha and lots of cacao.

  • SPA UNDER THE STARS

After many years in the spa industry Laura is always keen to give women the opportunity to rest, relax, rejuvenate and what better way than to Sauna and Hot Tub under the stars.

  • What we are

A membership circle of amazing sisters. A safe container for you to drop into, whatever you need in that moment allowing presence, space and support. To nurture, hold and listen when needed. We are an inclusive space for all women. I can’t list all the amazing flavours we have as a sisterhood because I would miss someone and offend someone for sure, but If you fully identify as a woman and are living as a woman, you are welcome. Our gatherings are a way for us to come together as a community of like minded, open hearted women, who are ready for magic!

  • What we are NOT

We are not a festival/event/entertainment, although all of these things will come about from the co-creation we bring together. We are not here to bring you a big production, there will be no program, until we arrive onsite and we all create the program together.

  • What to bring

Forage/Find/Borrow/Purchase/Bring with you: a loo roll, bin bag, a bag of logs for the communal fire, new yoga pants, sparkly disco goddess outfit, incense, water bottle, cozy blankets, a comfy seat, rug, yoga mat, tent (although we have some ready made tent options for you too), your best tea cup/mug, plate, bowl, cutlery, candles, non-alcoholic beverages, herbal tea bags, snacks, pack your wellies (then it won’t rain!), your suncream, hat, bug spray to protect your soft skin from being bitten, towel, bedding, your teddy bear, favourite book, journal, a power supply to charge your own phone if you need to have it on, something for the altar and the living mandala. This is YOUR time, make it special, be comfy, bring what you need!!

Cash, because we are not a cashless site, we are a plastic-less site, for the cafe, shopping therapies, donations.

  • What not to bring

We create a clean container, and hope to keep it this way, so we discourage drugs and alcohol at our gatherings, in order to keep the vibe high, in a natural way. We will not accept any alcohol on site, if you need to drink to have fun, we are not the gig for you.

Your Kids. The container we are bringing to you, is one where you can drop into just being you, and this doesn’t happen if there are children on site. Your energy will have to be with your children, and this is YOUR time. Many of us have to find childcare, and have to juggle this time, but I promise you it will be worth it

The only exception is breastfeeding babies and daughters that have reached their menarche, or are completely self sufficient, can feed and look after themselves, don’t need you to be mum, can be left alone, and can be fully respectful of the spaces that have been created. This is likely to be at the stage of maiden, but if you feel your daughter is ready sooner, then please get in touch. Donation for Teens will be £50.

No Animals, sorry, but wildlife is abundant, if you really cannot come without your pooch, then please reach out, again, I don’t want to stop you from coming, but I do need to know you are a super responsible dog owner, they must ALWAYS be on a lead, partly because wondering dogs will poop (I have 3 of my own!), and therefore you won’t be able to clear up behind your dog, and there is nothing worse than being barefoot on the land, and poop being present!!! Especially if you just got out of your tent for a wee in the dark!

  • Our home

We are absolutely blessed to be returning to an old event space that I used to create in, and it feels like coming home. I am so excited by the space, and all the beautiful structures that we will create with.

The full details will go out to you with your donation/membership for this years gathering, so as to keep the container safe and held, but to say that it is stunning, based close to Shepton Mallet in Somerset, within easy reach of Castle Cary train station, Frome, Bath, Devon, Bristol, London, Cardiff. All within 2 hours and easy reach.

There is a beautiful Barn that we will also be using, and fully flushing toilets, hot showers, all run via an off-grid bio mass and solar system. For extra power in the meadow we will have a solar rig and extra compost loo’s in the campsite for your convenience.

  • Offerings

What can you offer the other sisters, so that we co-create a program on the land??

A poem, story, song, yoga, creativity, plant magic, sacred walk, dance, movement, meditation, presence, cooking, fire keeping,……...we believe everyone has a talent inside them, just waiting to burst out, and we all have a part to play in coming together as a beautiful family for four days, in sharing our skills and love. This will happen fluidly on site, as time goes on. When you arrive there will be a huge timetable drawn up at the welcome/info point and you can add your offerings there!

Each day a board will be outside each space available for workshops/talks, embodiment, dance, etc and during your time slot, you will be responsible for creating the space, holding your class/workshop/experience, and the women that attend. At the end of your session you should leave the space clear for the next offering.

  • Sleepy Village

Decide how and where you want to wild camp……there are 20 acres all together so there will be a choice of places you can camp, park up, be accessible…….

If you want to travel light how about booking a bell tent already set up for you, on a beautiful spot on the land……… You can book the tent for yourself, or you can share with your friends, or friends you have yet to meet. This is a beautiful experience. We are managing the glamping ourselves, through our sister business Sunnyside Retreat so we will be creating some magical spaces for you.

Each will have its own mattress, lighting, rugs but we ask you due to the current climate to bring your own bedding, pillow, blanket etc. If you have never slept in a bell tent before, it's a truly beautiful experience.

The price will start from as little as £50, so email me info@sacredsistergathering.co.uk please put bell tent booking in the subject and Iets chat!

Bringing a vehicle to sleep in, let us know, camper, caravan, car, fire engine, tank…….we have seen it all over the years, so again please email me to let me know if you are bringing a vehicle to sleep in!

If you need to park your car near to where you are camping, this is possible, we will have a field designed for giving this kind of space., but it will be a walk away from the other areas, so not ideal if you need accessible camping.

There will be lots of camping only spots with no vehicles, so that you can truly get away from the outside world too, but there are no long walks from cars to camping, so all is easy.

If you require an easier spot for accessible camping, and toilet facilities, please let us know so we can give you a call for a chat and make your time with us as comfortable as possible.

If you are bringing your clan, family, friends, your bubble, then let us know your requirements, and we can find the perfect spot for you, and remember if you are sleeping with a group of 6 tents or more, you are welcome to create your own camp, including a fire, but you must bring a fire bowl, that is raised off the ground, and wood for your personal fire. It will be your responsibility to create a safe space, there will be three official fires onsite, so plenty to sit around.

  • Our daily rhythm

Whilst we are a free flowing camp, and you will be bringing the magic, it helps support us to rest, if we know there is a rhythm to each day.

Friday is our arrival day, from Noon, there is space to come on Thursday if you want to get stuck in and help us with setting up, you would be most welcome, just drop us an email to let us know.

You are welcome to arrive on the land from noon. Find a special camp spot, set yourself up, rest, relax, land, enjoy time out, chat, make tea, and just be. Please try to arrive by 4pm!

We will have a little camp meet up, share who’s who should you need help with anything, and then we will lead into our opening ceremony, fire lighting and dinner at 6pm. Before we gather at 8pm for a deep dive inner dance or kirtan by the fire.

We encourage a quiet camp with no amplified music or drumming after 10.30pm, so that those early sleepers can enjoy the peace, however there will be space in the barn, for you to gather later into the evening should you wish too.

Saturday, the day will be free to flow, with your offerings, and coming together.

The classes and workshop spaces will be available from 6am for any early risers, and will close around noon till 2pm, allowing everyone to have some lunch, to rest, to nourish, and to gather. The afternoon program will commence from 2pm to 6.30pm

From 6.30pm we will gather for food and the evening will begin around 8pm.

On Saturday evening…….we will be holding a cacao ceremony, and after that we are calling out your inner diva. Bring your shiniest, sparkliest, glammest, disco diva outfits, and let's party together. Let's celebrate all that it is to be women, to be sisters together.

Dance till your feet know you're alive, then collapse in a cuddle puddle as we hand over the stage to an open mic session, where anything you wish to share, becomes truly welcome.

Sunday day time, will be more of the same with your workshops/talks/classes along with the Sunday fly pitch market. We try to keep our selling time till this point, so that we can rest and enjoy the weekend, but this year, you will be welcome to arrive and set up Friday afternoon too, incase anyone wants to purchase something yummy to wear over the weekend. We will also have our clothes swap, Friday afternoon, and Sunday Morning, this is always a highlight.

Sunday afternoon we will hold a closing around 4pm, so that anyone who needs to be away, can do so with our blessing.

Sunday evening, will be for embracing, sharing, enjoying, caring, nurturing, allowing and being.

Monday will be packing down camp and goodbyes. Between 9am and Noon, we will be cleaning, sorting, tidying, taking down decor, and just generally leaving the space as we found it.

This is a really important part of the weekend. Leaving no trace, and this happens much easier if we all pull together. You will be expected to take all of your rubbish home with you, support the gathering fairies, and take nothing with you but love in your heart, and lots of new friends.

  • Tree planting

One of the beautiful aspects of the land we using, is that they are giving back to nature in a big way. Everything is done here, with the land and wildlife as it’s focus. So to follow tis pattern, we will be planting a tree for every sister, every time we hold an event here.

We will do this in keeping with the planting plan for the land, and it is likely that each sister will be able to plant their tree over the weekend themselves should they wish to do so. Can you imagine a Sacred Sister Gathering legacy, here in Somerset for years to come. Once the land has all it can manage, then we will look to donate to another tree planting cause, be it Treesisters or another local project.

If you are feeling the call of the sisterhood, book your tickets here for our May or September Gathering, or choose to come to both and make a saving when paying for both in advance.
